TRANSPACIFIC Research Notes explore the history, archaeology, geography, economy, science & knowledge, environment, culture, and politics of historical trans-Pacific relations and parts of the larger Pacific Ocean world.
Here, we introduce our sources, basic research results, articles scrutinizing exchange relations and interactions across the larger Pacific Ocean world, or parts of it, as well as other crucial texts, maps, manuscripts and archaeological relics related to research on the early modern (16th to 19th centuries) Pacific world. We also welcome contributions focused on specific events and areas of this maritime space and its adjacent regions.
Coordinators of our TRANSPACIFIC Research Notes are Angela Schottenhammer, Carlos Gonzalez Balderas and Ronald Van Velzen
