Crossroads – Studies on the History of Exchange Relations in the East Asian World
Established in 2010, Crossroads has been an international forum for contributions related to the history of exchange relations in the East Asian world focusing on both its continental (overland) and maritime (overseas) exchange relations of bilateral and multilateral interaction structures. Emphasis is placed on the transfer of culture, science, religions, commodity and product exchange, trade, as well as migration and the organisation of functioning networks across continental and maritime borders, all of which have to be defined in their respective historical and cultural contexts.
Crossroads 17/18 was the last issue at Ostasien Verlag. It is a special issue of Crossroads that we have dedicated to Chen Zhenxiu 陳朕秀, MA (1991–2019), who has been my PhD student at the History Department of the University of Salzburg between March 2018 and January 2019, to commemorate her for ever.
The journal has moved to E. J. Brill Publishers in 2020 and changed its title to Crossroads: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Asian Interactions.
